A Merry Delayed Christmas

"cos i need more time just too make things right.."

25th of December 2008 - So whatcha gonna do? Last night i finished my working shift somewhere around...10.00 PM. The streets is packed with people attending Christmas Eve Parties, Bands, Fun Fair and Christmas Carolers.

I guess i skip this year Christmas. My old folks and families are going back to our old neighbourhood so i stay behind for a couple of days. Pardon me late grandma, looks like i cant visit your grave this year but sure you would understand that I'm rushing to make some ends meet, getting things done so next year gonna be a lot more comfy.

Rain are gushing down from the sky like mad, maybe heaven is crying?

It's Christmas morning and i still can't figure out why my computer still having trouble with it win Sys 32...

-Merry Christmas

School Trippin'

"Year End Sale are Ebil.."

I squeezed in some time for an update so here goes...

A few days back, i got the opportunity to visit one of those "end of the world" -outback school; SK Gumpey (about a 100+ km from Kuching) I was bored being rooted all day in the office so when the company decided to send in some people to handle deliveries, guess i volunteered to tag along..

Rural school is no stranger for me since basically I'm a town person myself....and this school really does remind me to my old long lost schooling days. It's good to wind back some of the nostalgic moments back then but....

..i was wondering, after all these 28 years if time ever stand still, the right place for THAT to happen should be right here right now. Compared to the "more advanced" schools situated in the cities, (not to mention comparing these to overseas educational institution) there are still heaps and tons to be done to improve the standard of education and improving the school facilities for rural school children...

..some of stuff found here are just pure relic of the past. How clearly that we are light years behind.

..for those who think that school is the worst place in the world to spend your teenage days in, try attending one, minus the table and chairs....can chiong till lunch or not? Be grateful you have somewhere to sit and someplace to write your notes on.

This hole connects one of the classroom to the next door teachers office. It's easier to monitor the class by just peeping through it. Just hope no bravado kids had the guts to poke their teacher in the eye while they busy spyin....

The school was built on a swampy location near the river bank. What a place to be...i wonder what happened during monsoon season. This looks more like a Rice plantation field than that of a primary school.

Thus..if u don't wanna get your feet stuck in the mud, use those joined-together wooden planks to more from one classroom to another!

.. Staff Office. Look Closer and you will see...

...a hefty lookin old country town (western bar style sign board)

..this will be the only sole school garden. The area is not that big. You can finish your school tour here in 3 minutes. The in between class blocks are a few metres away..

One of these two blocks are the student library..now in case you been wondering what they are being reading, try to imagine what your dad or mum read back in the 1980's. Fresh books are rarities, my friends. Some are downright donated. c'mon guys we need more budget for the outback kids education.

...ending my day going back home i wonder, which is more meaningful? Sending a guy to space or sending 40 rural kids to university. Yet again..if there's a will, there's a way.
